EDUCHIEVE™ uses the talents of experienced educators coupled with advanced data and curriculum software to greatly enhance the potential for schools and districts to effectively address student academic needs and constantly increase student achievement. Senior staff members are experienced turn-around specials.

Dr. Gayle Wood – President and Founder

Throughout her distinguished career, Dr. Gayle Wood has worked at almost every level in public education. She has taught and served as principal for students in K–8, receiving the National Blue Ribbon Award, as well as Redbook Magazine’s award as one of the top ten elementary schools in the nation.

She has also served at the district level on curriculum and instruction, accountability, educational technology, district-wide assessment, research, and district-wide strategic planning.

At the state level, she served as senior specialist for the Texas Education Agency’s Regional Service Centers, coordinating the efforts of nearly 800 of the state’s 1,100 school systems in the implementation of state standards, instructional curriculum, and software development for the state’s assessment and accountability programs.

More recently, Dr. Wood founded EDUCHIEVE™, a national consulting firm of educators serving educators. At the core of the EDUCHIEVE™ offering is a unique, advanced software program that provides easy, fast, customized and meaningful reports on state test testing results, standards, local curriculum, and benchmark assessment data. The program helps superintendents, administrators, and educators make informed instructional decisions, and facilitates professional development, assessment solutions, curriculum alignment, and systemic strategic planning.

In addition to her role as president of EDUCHIEVE™, Dr. Wood currently serves as a statewide academic review specialist for school and district improvement and reform in Virginia and as an adjunct graduate school professor.

Dr. Wood’s credentials include a B.S. from Ball State University and an M.S. in education and educational administration from Purdue University. She did additional coursework at the University of North Texas and Texas A&M University, and earned a doctorate focused on designing instructional models for NCLB and data-driven instructional decision-making.

Dr. Calanthia Tucker – Senior Staff

As a distinguished educational leader, Dr. Calanthia Tucker was featured in Jay Mathew’s book Supertest for leading low performing schools to nationally recognized schools. She was awarded the Washington Post’s Distinguished Educational Leadership Award and George Mason University’s Kappa Delta Pi Point of Excellence Award.

As Assistant Superintendent for 26 of the 182 schools in her district, her schools’ passing rates increased from an average of 64 percent to 80 percent during her tenure. During the same period, the percentage of students scoring in the “pass advanced” category rose from 10 percent to 23 percent. All of the high schools in her area ranked in the top 3 percent of the nation on the Washington Post’s National Challenge Index.

Dr. Tucker began her career as a teacher and later worked in the Department of Human Resources and the Area Administrative Office as a human relations specialist; a high school assistant principal; a high school principal; administrative officer to the Division Superintendent; and an assistant superintendent. Additionally, she worked as an adjunct professor at George Mason University and a student teacher supervisor for Regent University.

Dr. Tucker received her Doctoral in school administration from Vanderbilt University. She has served several times as the Southern Association of School Accreditation Team leader, serves on the Board of Directors for Apple Federal Credit Union and Apple Federal Credit Union Education Foundation and has presented at National and local conferences and universities. Dr. Tucker is a national consultant for the HOPE Foundation and EDUCHIEVE.

Paul Tracy – Senior Staff

Paul Tracy is a retired Vermont educator with 40 years of service. Paul’s Vermont experienced includes eight years as a classroom teacher at the elementary and middle level, ten years as an elementary principal, seven years as a high school principal, four years as Director of Curriculum and Supervision at the supervisory union level, and eight years as a superintendent of schools. In 2005, Paul and his wife Barbara moved to Virginia to take a more active role as grandparents to triplet grandchildren born in 2000.

During the past two years, The Virginia Department of Education has contracted with Paul to coordinate and conduct academic reviews, as needed, in the 20 school division in Northern Virginia. Paul has also been engaged by other school divisions to conduct internal academic reviews at the elementary, middle and high school level.

Paul earned a B.S in Education at Castleton State College in Castleton, Vermont and a Masters of Education in Administration and Planning from the University of Vermont. Paul’s educational experience gives him a unique understanding of the many issues faced by today’s educators, parents and communities. Educators who worked with Paul find his open, engaging, and direct approach to be a valuable asset. They also give Paul high marks on his ability to assist school communities in the development of a school improvement plans that are ‘working’ documents rather than “shelved” documents.

Paul Tracy believes in Marva Collins quote: “There is a brilliant child locked inside every student.” Today, he is committed to helping educators find that child.
